Description from the seller
Rare and charming set of two antique porrons, blowing glass carafes, dating from the mid-18th century.
These traditional vessels are characterized by their globular body, their long neck ending with a flared lip, and above all their long lateral spout, allowing drinking directly on the pour without bringing the vessel to the lips.
The first, of substantial size, is made in a very beautiful slightly blue-tinted glass. It features numerous bubbles, irregularities, and streaks in the material, characteristic of artisanal manufacture in ancient blown glass. (38 × 15 cm)
The second, smaller one, is made in a pale green-tinted glass, also blown and displaying the irregularities characteristic of this type of old production. (20 × 9 cm)
In good condition, only the tips of the two porrons had to be cut during the creation of the carafe.
