Description from the seller

Antique notepad holder, in wood and silver, with floral decoration. Elegant desk notepad holder, rectangular in shape, consisting of a dark wood base and a hinged silver upper plate. The lid features careful relief decoration, with a laurel crown at the center, framed by a geometric border and motifs of roses and foliage in the four corners. At the top end it has a continuous hinge and two small turned finials, allowing the silver plate to be raised and tilted over the wooden base. The bottom presents four hemispherical silver supports. Small punches/marks of Portuguese silver Javali (1887-1937) are also visible. A decorative and functional piece, characteristic of late 19th-century desk accessories, designed to support a notepad or sheets of notes. Overall good condition for its age, with signs of use and wear consistent with its antiquity. 17.5 x 10 x 4 cm. 162 grams.
