Description from the seller
Neolithic axe made from flint/jasper. Originating from the Southwest of Libya (Fezzan), Ubari sand desert with its famous lakes. During the Neolithic (and earlier) there was a lot of habitation in this now hyper-arid region. This type of axe is related to those from the Northern Niger (Tenerean). They are fairly flat and have a concave edge. Most are only polished on one side and further sharpened when worn. Beautiful patina with natural desert gloss and intact.

Dimensions: 70 x 43 mm
Each sold lot will be provided with an authenticity certificate
