Urd / Verdandi / Skuld

5000 specimens
The Norns – three ancestral seers of the giants’ race – wove and protected the fate of all existence. Urd, Verdandi and Skuld – the Past, the Present and the Future. Three sisters whose names are the very rhythm of time.
Their abode was the Well of Urd, sacred source of wisdom and destiny. There, in the shadow of its tangled roots, the Murmurers watered the Tree with water and white clay drawn from the well, healing its wounds and preserving the balance of the world. For if it were to wither, the fate of the gods and men would end.
Every day, they wove the golden threads of life. From their weaving arose human destinies – fragile, sometimes tangled, and sometimes brutally cut by their shears. The Norns appeared at births to give a name and a destiny to each new life. And when the hour of death came, one of them cut the thread of life, thus ending the journey of the soul through the earthly world.
