Description from the seller
GENERAL:
This 1954 Land Rover Series 1 is a three-owner vehicle showing approximately 95,000 kms on the clock, sourced from a private collection. Located in Sant Just Desvern, within the Baix Llobregat region of Barcelona, Spain, it retains its fully matching numbers status, including its original wheels dated 02/54. The Land Rover Series 1, introduced in 1948, became an iconic symbol of rugged utility and durable engineering; surviving early examples from dry climates like Spain are particularly prized for their remarkably preserved structural components. This low-mileage unit drives smoothly and represents a highly original piece of classic four-wheel-drive history.
BODYWORK & PAINT:
The body was completely taken off the chassis to undergo a comprehensive restoration on a fully rust-free unit. The bodywork was repainted to a high standard in the original bronze green color. All original galvanized parts remain in incredible, original condition, reflecting a vehicle that has always been stored under cover. It features a replacement canvas top supplied by Exmoor.
TECHNICAL:
The running gear and mechanical systems have been thoroughly overhauled. The engine was dismantled to replace the piston rings, receive a redone cylinder head, and fit all new gaskets. Fuel and ignition systems feature a new petrol pump, distributor cap, points, condenser, spark plugs, and ignition cables, while retaining the original 1954 coil. The starter motor and dynamo are original units that were opened and serviced. The gearbox, transfer box, and front and rear axles were all opened and serviced. The braking system is completely new, including new brake pipes, and a new clutch is installed. The chassis was sandblasted and repainted, proving to be in excellent, rust-free condition alongside the firewall.
INTERIOR:
The cabin features original seats that have been fully reupholstered. As part of the interior restoration, the speedometer as well as the combined petrol and temperature gauge were dismantled, thoroughly cleaned, and fully serviced.
DOCUMENTS:
Information regarding registration papers, historic status, and current inspection documentation is available upon request.
COLLECTION:
The vehicle is located in Sant Just Desvern, Barcelona, Spain. Transport and delivery can be organized at the buyer’s expense.
OTHER INFORMATION:
Having spent its life in the dry climate of Spain, the vehicle enjoys an exceptional level of preservation. It comes directly from a private collection and offers an enjoyable, smooth driving experience true to a low-mileage Series 1.

Disclaimer
Catawiki always aims to offer you the best possible buying experience. Our experts virtually review and select every vehicle in line with our submission guidelines and we require our sellers to provide the most accurate description of the vehicle. However, providing a fully detailed analysis of the vehicle is extremely difficult, and close to impossible. To guide you, we ask our sellers to provide information about the vehicle’s condition. Please consider that most vehicles for sale are classic vehicles and they often already have a whole life behind them, meaning that even a condition 1 or 2 vehicle might need maintenance to be ready for the road. It is advised to carefully read our submission guidelines that further describe details about the condition grades and types to manage your expectations. Cars are sold “as is”, meaning as described and in the condition they are in at the time of the sale and without any representation, warranty or assumption of liability of any kind as to the condition by Catawiki or by the seller. The condition of this item is the opinion of the seller and may differ from yours, your local garage, or the dealer’s opinion. This does not automatically mean the car does not conform to its description. Before bidding, please check your local legislation regarding vehicle registration. Neither the seller nor Catawiki is responsible for the registration of the vehicle in your country and will not accept a cancellation for your failure to register the vehicle. We also recommend that, if possible, you arrange a viewing with the seller before placing a bid.
