Hala Zeist - Table lamp - Steel - Flexible

A splendid vintage desk lamp or industrial work lamp, designed by the famous designer Herman Busquet for the Dutch manufacturer Hala Zeist in the 1960s.
Design features: The lamp features the unmistakable conical aluminum lampshade with longitudinal upper slits, originally created both to dissipate the bulb’s heat and to produce a striking decorative light effect. The structure is completed by a rigid lower arm and a flexible upper goose-neck section that allows the light beam to be oriented in any direction.
Conditions of the item: The lamp is in good vintage condition, with a beautiful patina of age. It shows the usual, fascinating signs of wear related to its age, such as slight loss of surface paint and small blooms of oxidation that enhance its industrial character. No major structural dents. The electrical system is functioning and original to the period.
As seen in the photo, the box that encloses the on/off button is missing. It is sold with a bulb.
