The Canon FTb QL (1971) is a robust, all-mechanical 35mm SLR from Canon’s FD-mount era, with TTL metering and Canon’s Quick Loading (QL) system for fast, reliable film loading. The black finish is the less common and more sought-after version. It is offered here with the Canon FD 50mm f/1.8 S.C., the compact standard lens of the system.

Optical Condition
Finder: Cleaned internally.
Lens: FD 50mm f/1.8 S.C.: light haze inside, with little effect on images. See photos.

Functional
Power, light meter, shutter and film transport work. Measured: 1 s = 0.7 s, 1/60 = 1/53, 1/1000 = 1/1100.
The light seals have been replaced and the viewfinder and lens cleaned internally.

Measured Performance
We check these cameras on a shutter tester rather than by ear, and we publish what we measured:
- 1 s — measured 1/0.7 s (approx. 0.5 stop slow)
- 1/60 — measured 1/53 s (approx. 0.2 stop slow)
- 1/1000 — measured 1/1100 s (approx. 0.1 stop fast)
Negative film has enough latitude to absorb deviations of this size, but the figures are here so you can judge for yourself.

Servicing
This camera was serviced by us before listing:
- Light seals (foam) replaced
- Viewfinder cleaned internally
- Lens cleaned internally

Known Issues
1. Light haze inside the lens. It has little effect on images, but expect slightly lower contrast against strong light.

We ship via either FedEx or Japan Post (ePacket), whichever suits the destination and the parcel. With Japan Post your package is handed over to the local postal carrier in your country for final delivery.
