Antique Chinese blue-and-white porcelain Narcissus planter / Bulb tray – Qing Dynasty, 19th century
Description: A beautiful and authentic antique Chinese blue-and-white porcelain plant trough. 23 cm x 16.2 cm (traditionally known as a Narcissus trough or Bulb tray), dating from the 19th century (Late Qing Dynasty).
This piece is an excellent example of Chinese export porcelain and combines functionality with refined craftsmanship.
Features and details:
Design: Rectangular model with elegant open-work side walls (reticulated / honeycomb design). The upper rim is adorned with finely hand-painted geometric patterns and floral motifs (flowers).
Base: The trough stands on four characteristic corner feet. The unglazed portions of the feet show the original, iron-rich terracotta-like patination (ware traces), typical of porcelain from this period.
Condition: In good antique condition with lovely signs of aging. The interior and underside show the authentic texture of old porcelain, including slight glaze flaws and natural imperfections in the glaze that accentuate its originality. There are still old inventory/auction stickers on the bottom (including the number 3350).
