AI-assisted summary

Description from the seller

Superb decorative porcelain plate from the Chinese Famille Rose (Fencai) that dates to the Republic of China period (mid-20th century).
This circular exhibition plate (Shǎngpán 赏盘) comes from the famous Zhushan workshops (Jingdezhen). It features a highly refined design in the traditional “Flowers and Birds” (Huaniao) style, depicting a red-plastroned bird perched on a branch above beautiful yellow and white chrysanthemums, symbols of autumn and longevity.
* Artist: Signed by Shi Yuchu (石宇初), the first disciple of the great master Liu Yucen and a member of the elite of the second generation of the “Eight Little Friends of Zhushan.”
* Inscriptions: Calligraphic poem “秋菊佳色” (The beautiful colors of autumn chrysanthemums) with the artist’s signature.
* Backmark: Red enamel square seal in a sigillary style “石宇初印” (Seal of Shi Yuchu), confirming the piece’s authenticity.
* Characteristics: Diameter: 22 cm | Weight: 646 g. Three original holes are present in the foot for wall mounting.
* Condition: Very good overall. Three tiny old nicks are noted on the rear foot just above a mounting hole, related to the historical rubbing of the hanging wire (minor defect, completely hidden when the plate is viewed face-on). No hairlines, cracks, or restorations.
