Export porcelain plate, traditionally referred to as the East India Company, of circular shape with a scalloped and slightly lobed edge. Hand-painted cobalt blue decoration under the glaze, depicting at the center a branch of peonies and other flowers, surrounded by a lobed fillet with small vegetal motifs. The rim is ornamented with alternating flowering sprigs.
China, Qing dynasty, Qianlong period, about 1750–1770. Unmarked, as is common for this production intended for the European market.
Condition: In good overall condition. It shows tiny nicks and small glaze flaws on the rim.
