Description from the seller
Gray marble vase with vertical fluting
This gray marble vase with vertical fluting represents a classical form inspired by ancient Medici vases and decorative urns that were popular in European architecture and design from the Renaissance onward. The vertical flutings, known as godronature, were a common decorative element in stone and marble work, used to confer elegance and movement to surfaces. This type of vase was produced in Italy and in other European countries mainly between the 19th and 20th centuries, often as a decorative element for gardens, terraces and noble interiors.
These marble vases are highly valued by antique collectors, interior designers, and lovers of classical design for their timeless beauty and artisanal quality. The veined gray marble gives a sophisticated and neutral look that suits various interior styles, from traditional to contemporary. Such pieces are particularly sought after by those who want to add a touch of historic elegance to living spaces or gardens, and they represent a lasting investment thanks to the material’s resilience and inherent aesthetic value.
