Rack - Gilt wood

Corner devotional cabinet in gilded wood - 19th century.

Corner oratory or devotional niche, carved wood and partially gilded. Triangular in structure, it features an arched and moulded top, lateral pilasters, and a wavy, scalloped base. Interior lined with blue velvet fabric, probably applied at a later date. Metal suspension hardware on the back.

European work, probably Iberian or Italian, from the first half of the 19th century, in a late Baroque taste. Intended to hold a small religious image.

In good condition. Shows wear, darkening, and localized losses in the gilding, compatible with age. Fabric with stains, dust, and wear. Later suspension hardware. Structure stable. Religious image not included.
