Description from the seller
Large circular cake stand on a pedestal foot in clear moulded and pressed glass, whose style and craftsmanship are characteristic of Belgian productions from the Art Deco period and attributable to the famous Verrerie de Scailmont. This compotier or display dish features a rich radiating geometric decoration combining large diamond-point panels, chequered lattice patterns, and radiating fan-shaped motifs that create beautiful light refraction. The upper tray ends with a delicately scalloped and wavy border. The central pedestal, flaring towards the bottom, faithfully repeats the same decorative repertoire and terminates in a flat circular base decorated with a stylised star underneath to enhance its brilliance. The piece bears no visible signature or mark, which is common for glassware and tableware items of this era from the factory's catalogues. Regarding the dimensions, the stand has a height of 15.5 cm, an upper tray diameter of 31 cm, and a foot diameter of 13 cm. The overall condition is described as good, with no open chips or cracks to the structure, showing only a few light surface marks and friction wear under the base, entirely normal and consistent with its age and use.
