Statuette - Dogon - Wood - Mali.

Dogon statue from the southern Kambari of the Bandiagara plateau.
It represents a seated figure holding its face in its hands.
It could be a prayerful attitude to Amma.
The style is very pared-down, a few scarifications on the temples, the shapes are angular and symmetrical.
This one is old, the wood is heavy, the dark patina is slightly crusty.
It is in good condition.

Elle représente un personnage assis tenant son visage entre ses mains.
Il pourrait s'agir d'une attitude de prière à Amma.
Le style est très épuré, quelques scarifications sur les tempes , les formes sont anguleuses et symétriques.
Celle ci est ancienne, le bois est lourd, la patine sombre est légèrement crouteuse.
Elle est en bon état.
