The gradual, cyclic deposition of microcrystalline quartz (chalcedony), enriched by trace elements such as hematite and goethite, built layer after layer the complex bands and colorations we admire today. The specimen has been skillfully sliced from a rough nodular lump to expose its incredible inner world. The mirror-polished main face enhances the glassy luster of quartz and the color saturation, while the outer edge has been left natural. This rough, rugged crust, the original “skin” of the nodular, offers a fascinating tactile and visual contrast, telling the story of its extraction.
