Large coupe bijoux of jade-green powdered glass between layers of uncoloured glass from the 'Jade-Marbrines' range by Verreries Schneider of Epinay-sur-Seine, France. The coupe is mounted on a dark foot. The 'Jade-Marbrines' range was produced between 1922 and 1926.

Dimensions: Height: 12 cm; Diameter: 31 cm.

The coupe is in excellent condition with normal signs of use. Small inclusions and air bubbles are common in the production processes of the time. No chips. Photos are part of the description. The coupe is signed ‘Schneider’.

Charles Schneider, a master of French Art Deco glass. After founding the Schneider glassworks in 1917 with his brother Ernest, Charles launched two iconic lines: Le Verre Français and Schneider. These collections, produced between 1918 and 1933, showcased his innovative spirit and technical brilliance.

The Schneider line, of which this coupe is an example, focused on blown glass with vibrant colors and flowing shapes, emphasizing artistic spontaneity and craftsmanship. Techniques included glassblowing, overlap, and internal colors, giving rise to more spontaneous, expressive pieces. In contrast to the natural themes of Le Verre Français, the Schneider line leaned toward abstract and geometric forms, often with a more modernist aesthetic. In the Jade-Marbrines series the emphasis is on the color of shimmering semi-precious stones and marbles. The use of different powders between layers of uncoloured glass produced striking cloud-like color effects that proved very popular.
