Goebel - Figure - Meisje met pop - Porcelain

Refined Art Deco porcelain figurine in the shape of a sad or tired little girl in a yellow dress with daisies, holding a doll under her arm and bringing her hand to her forehead. The figurine dates from the 1920s or 1930s (Art Deco period) and belongs to the factory's early artistic series, before the world-famous M.I. Hummel figurines came to dominate production.

On the underside of the square base there is a printed maker's mark of William Goebel, accompanied by an incised model number.

Although Goebel became world-famous mainly for the Hummel figurines, they also produced in the 20th century several other series with this type of finely painted porcelain child figures.
