Description from the seller

Formes Nues (1935) - First Edition - Avant-Garde Photobook (Man Ray, Brassaï, Moholy-Nagy)
Subtitle:
Original spiral-bound edition. 96 master photogravures. Excellent condition with vintage Ex Libris.
Description:
Exceptional copy of the legendary first edition of "Formes Nues", published in Paris in 1935 by Éditions d'Art Graphique et Photographique under the direction of Albert Mentzel and Albert Roux. This work is considered one of the most influential nude and avant-garde photobooks of the 20th century, a milestone of the "New Vision" photographic movement.
The volume gathers 96 heliogravures of extraordinary printing quality and contrast, with masterworks by the era’s most revolutionary photographers: Man Ray (who also designed the iconic cover), Brassaï, László Moholy-Nagy, Andreas Feininger, Edmund Kesting, André Kertész, René Zuber, and Laure Albin Guillot, among others.
Condition Report:
Overall: Very Good+ to Near Fine. A remarkably clean and tight copy for its age.
Binding: Retains its original iconic metal spiral binding, complete, well-aligned, and without any missing loops (extremely rare for this fragile format).
Covers: Original card cover with Man Ray’s design is well-preserved. Shows minor creasing and light corner wear due to age, but the deep black and bright orange typography remain vivid.
Interior: Clean interior pages, with deep contrast on the plates and free from severe foxing or moisture stains.
Special Feature: Includes a beautiful, artistic vintage Ex Libris pasted onto the left flyleaf, depicting the classical relief of Kairos (Opportunity), adding a wonderful bibliophile character to the copy.

Publisher: Éditions d'Art Graphique et Photographique, Paris.
