Nightstand (2) - Wood, Glass

Pair of refined Italian-made nightstands dating from the mid-20th century (1950s–60s). The design perfectly embodies the transitional style between late Art Deco and Mid-Century Modern. The chests are crafted in wood with an elegant glossy, mirror-like finish. The front is adorned with delicate gold angular motifs with floral/scroll patterns and with hoop-shaped handles in gold-colored metal. The upper surface is covered by a sophisticated back-veneered glass in an ochre/nut-brown tone, featuring incised decorations and finished at the back with a finely perforated wooden gallery. The svelte, needle-point legs confer dynamism and visual lightness to the structure.
