Sculpture 2 – Torchwork Technique

Abstract glass sculpture worked with a torch (torch-worked), featuring a free/fantastic sculptural subject – a kind of “creature” or layered organic form. The upper body, ruby red with aventurine/dichroic effect, presents hot-applied elements: translucent tapering tips, yellow and black spherical studs, a white decorative spiral, and small red dots. The lower body blends red, blue, and green with additional torch-worked black spheres, resting on a black glass disk base. The torchworking technique, which assembles and fuses small glass elements with a bench torch rather than in a furnace, allows fine detail and the precise applications visible here (beads/studs, spirals, spines).
