Antique copper and brass hot water fountain / reservoir – France – 19th century
Beautiful and authentic antique copper hot water fountain, cylindrical in shape, fitted with two brass side handles and a brass lower faucet.
The piece has its copper lid with a top handle.
The construction is artisanal and utilitarian in character, typical of domestic copper vessels once used for storing and distributing hot water.
The copper shows a warm, antique patina, with red, brown and greenish hues as well as various marks and signs of use.
Dating
France, 19th century, probably circa 1850–1900.

Condition
Old condition with original patina, oxidation, small dents, scratches and signs of use.
