In 1980, Ghirri, invited by Polaroid International's director Heiting to the studios in Amsterdam to use the 50×70 format camera, began at home to assemble a series of models. The large Polaroids, more than thirty, thus constitute a compact body of work tied to the early investigations of the seventies, particularly to “Atlante” and “Identikit,” as well as to his last unfinished work on still lifes.
