A distinctive and highly decorative vintage JACK JUMBO wooden level from Danish origin, made of solid wood with a beautiful warm reddish-brown color and a nicely seasoned patina.

This long traditional carpenter’s level has a robust yet exceptionally attractive Scandinavian appearance. The solid wooden body is equipped with integrated bubbles for horizontal and vertical measurements.

An appealing detail is the still-present original JACK/JUMBO emblem. The emblem has weathered somewhat over the years and shows clear signs of age. This has intentionally been preserved and forms a beautiful part of the authentic character of the object.

The level has a generous length of no less than 75.7 cm. The wood has a warm reddish-brown appearance reminiscent of teak. The exact type of wood has not been definitively determined and is therefore cautiously described as solid wood, presumably teak.

The construction, material choice and sober functional design fit well with Scandinavian professional measuring tools from the mid-20th century. An exact production date has not been established; this specimen is presumed to date from around 1950–1970.

From tool to decorative object

Although originally manufactured as functional carpenter’s equipment, this level today also has a particularly decorative appearance.

Due to the combination of the long slender model, the warm wood, the visible bubbles and the natural patina, the object fits perfectly within a Scandinavian, Mid-Century Modern, Japandi or industrial interior.
