Erato – The Drawings of Mihály Zichy
Budapest: Corvina, 1989
A beautifully produced edition presenting 30 erotic drawings by the Hungarian painter and graphic artist Mihály Zichy. Includes a short scholarly study in English at the end of the main volume.
Unpaginated (38 leaves).
About the artist: Mihály Zichy (1827–1906) was one of the most remarkable Hungarian illustrators of the 19th century, active in Paris and at the Russian Imperial Court. His erotic drawings—unknown during his lifetime—are now celebrated for their refined linework, emotional intensity, and unusually modern sense of intimacy and equality between the figures.
