Rated Excellent on Trustpilot.
An antique Napoléon III table from circa 1900–1910, with a dark wooden frame, bronze and brass ornamentation, and a marble top, measuring 80 cm wide, 46 cm high and 40 cm deep, in good used condition with minor age-related imperfections.
Description from the seller
It is a table from the early 20th century that fully preserves the ornamental spirit of the Napoleon III style, that taste for theatricality, sparkle, and the blend of noble materials that, by the late 19th and early 20th centuries, continued to be reinterpreted in French and European workshops. The dark wood structure acts as a warm, solemn body, worked with fine moldings and a straight profile that balances the exuberance of the metallic details. In the apron appears that characteristic decoration in bronze and brass, applied in the form of garlands, scrollwork and small cartouches that seem to embrace the perimeter like architectural jewelry. The metal, with its slightly aged golden tone, adds depth and a soft shine that dialogues with the wood grain.
The legs, fluted and finished with vegetal motifs in bronze, reinforce the elegant verticality of the piece. They do not seek excessive protagonism: they function as ornamental columns that support the piece with an almost sculptural presence. Up top, the marble top introduces a luminous contrast. Its surface, with veins in white, gray and touches of gold, adds freshness and solemnity, acting as a kind of stage where the table reveals its character. One of the corners shows a time mark, discreet, which far from detracting from beauty adds authenticity: it is the imprint of a long life, coherent with the historical nature of the furniture.
The ensemble maintains that balance so characteristic of late Napoleon III: visual richness without ostentation, careful craftsmanship, and a mix of materials that conveys nobility and presence.
Certified shipping and good packaging.
