Description from the seller

This elegant Blue Danube porcelain lot was produced in Japan and decorated in the celebrated Blue Danube pattern, inspired by the historic Blue Onion design that originated in Europe. The rich cobalt-blue decoration features stylized flowers, foliage, and traditional oriental-inspired motifs, making the pattern one of the most recognizable blue-and-white tableware designs of the 20th century.

The lot comprises:

1 large round serving platter, height, 3.5 cm and 31 cm in diameter.
1 coffee / tea pot with lid
1 creamer
1 gravy boat
1 snack plate,
2 cups with matching saucers
1 small round tray with metal mount (unmarked but decorated in the same Blue Danube pattern)

Blue Danube tableware was produced in Japan primarily for the American market from the 1950s onward and became highly popular for its elegant appearance and practicality. Today it remains sought after by collectors of blue-and-white porcelain and vintage tableware.

The pieces display the characteristic deep-blue decoration on a bright white porcelain body. The lot offers a charming combination of serving and tea accessories, suitable for both display and practical use.

They are all in very good condition. Please examine the photographs carefully as they form part of the description and provide the best impression of the condition of the items.

Estimated date: second half of the 20th century (circa 1960s–1980s).

Will be carefully packed and shipped with tracking.
