Art Deco sculpture by the famous sculptor Joe Descomps (Joseph Cormier) 1869–1950

Sculptor, master goldsmith and French chaser emblematic of the Art Deco period
Prestigious training among the great masters like Alexandre Falguière
Regular exhibitor at the Salon of French Artists from 1891 to 1928, gold medalist and awarded the Legion of Honour in 1929
Favored subjects: the body of the woman and dancers in full motion

Signed on the sculpture’s base (the style of the inscription, the cursive script, and the freehand writing attest to the authenticity of this period sculpture)
No foundry mark, as is very common for this sculptor since it was sold directly to art dealers
