Beautiful antique three-legged cast iron cooking pot, also known as a grape or witch’s cauldron. Circa 1800-1850 or older.
In original condition.
Model: It is a bulbous pot (spherical) with three legs, a protruding neck rim, and two angular handles.
Function: This type of cooking pot was actively used from the late Middle Ages up to the 19th century to prepare food. Thanks to the three legs, the pot could be placed stably directly in the glowing embers or ashes of an open fireplace.
