BAROQUE-STYLE MIRROR WITH CARVED WOOD FRAME, GILDING AND LACQUER – 18th CENTURY - 1700
Important antique mirror in Baroque taste, made of finely carved, sculpted and gilded wood, with refined decoration featuring vegetal motifs, volutes, acanthus leaves and opposing scrolls.
The piece presents an imposing upper crest with symmetric development, characterized by stylized vegetal elements and a rich openwork design. The composition extends laterally through elaborate foliate volutes, with a plastically dynamic and scenographic cadence.
The inner frame is characterized by refined gold-brown polychromy enriched by applied items and gilded ornamental motifs. At the base there is a singular carved mascaron, an element of particular interest, inserted within the complex volute composition.
