The Olympus Pen EF is a half-frame camera, which means that on a 36-exposure roll you can take 72 pictures. In times of cost savings, that can really count. Twice as many photos on the same film reel.

Included is an original leather case in which the word “Olympus” is pressed or embossed. A wrist strap that allows the camera (whether inside or outside the case) to be carried, and one AA battery that powers the light meter and the built-in flash.

The Olympus Pen EF is very easy to use. Because it uses a 28mm lens, the user does not have to focus manually. Everything from 1 meter to infinity is in focus. You only need to print.

When there is insufficient light, a red flag will immediately appear in the viewfinder, signaling that the user should use the built-in flash. With a simple push of the slide switch, the flash pops up to the side. After a few seconds an orange light appears and the camera is ready to use with flash. If you no longer want to use the flash, push the flash back into place.

The Olympus f3.5/28mm lens is particularly sharp, free of scratches and polish marks, with no fungus or haze inside.

The camera operates fully automatically and sets the shutter speed itself between 1/30 sec and 1/250 sec. The ASA values can be set from 25 up to 400.

The viewfinder is particularly bright. There are few or no scratches on the camera housing. I must mention that there is a crack in the plastic protection of the selenium light meter, but this does not affect the camera’s functioning or light metering in any way.

The camera is highly regarded for its very compact body, attractive design, light weight, sharpness, and color rendition, but also for the fact that this type of camera can take 72 exposures on a 36-exposure roll or 48 exposures on a 24-exposure roll...

Analog film photography has become a hype again among the younger generation. They want to feel again what photographers from the 1960s to the 1990s had. Taking photos with black-and-white film and developing and printing them on Barite or Chamois paper… that time was wonderful.
