Icon - Wood - Pantocrator

Christ Pantocrator (Христос Вседержитель), that is, Christ Almighty.
The abbreviations IC XC on either side of the head correspond to ΙΗΣΟΥΣ ΧΡΙΣΤΟΣ — Jesus Christ.
Christ appears frontally, with a serious face and direct gaze.
In the left hand he holds the Gospel, while the right hand seems raised in a blessing gesture.
The book is depicted closed or partially closed, with a very deteriorated decoration.
The golden background and the frame feature incised geometric decoration.
The face, with large eyes, an elongated nose, and a very schematic treatment, recalls icons from the 17th–18th centuries.
