Impressive and very detailed handmade model ship of Le Superbe, a French ship of the line from 1784.

A particularly beautifully executed ship model of Le Superbe, a French ship of the line with 74 guns from the famous Téméraire class. This imposing model was entirely handcrafted in the 1990s in Mauritius, in the artisanal workshop La Petite Frégate Cie Ltée, Rue Couvent de Lorette, Curepipe Road, Mauritius.

The model comes with a certificate.

Exceptionally detailed craftsmanship
The quality and attention to detail are immediately visible. The model features very beautifully and carefully executed rigging and sails, various flags, and an especially detailed finish of the guns, hull and wooden components.

The many hand-applied details give the ship a very authentic and characterful look. Especially the combination of extensive rigging, masts, guns and the detailed woodwork makes this an impressive example of traditional model shipbuilding craftsmanship.

Le Superbe was a French ship of the line with 74 guns, built according to the plans of the famous French shipbuilder Jacques-Noël Sané. The ship was launched in 1784 at Brest and was part of the Téméraire class, an important class of French ships of the line in the second half of the 18th century.
