Writing desk - Wood

Italian Art Deco desk, presumably from the 1930s–1940s, characterized by a compact, asymmetric structure and the elegant rounded lines typical of the period.

Made of wood with veneered surfaces showing a beautiful grain, it features a wide upper drawer with a lock and decorative handle, a side compartment closed by a door with an internal shelf, and a further small open compartment beneath the top. The shaped front feet and decorative hardware are particularly noteworthy.

The interior of the drawer and the cabinet are lined with decorative paper. It shows signs of age and use, finish variations, and surface wear, visible in the photographs, consistent with the age of the piece.

Dimensions: width 102 cm, depth 40 cm, height 78 cm.

A desk with restrained proportions, suitable also as a writing desk or small work cabinet, and especially decorative thanks to its Art Deco forms.
