Description from the seller
Umbrian artistic ceramic decorative service Rose Marie – Bottega d’Arte, Assisi, circa 1980, consisting of 11 pieces.
The service was purchased in Assisi around 1980 and has since been kept mainly as a decorative element, with the plates hung on the wall. On the back of the plates you can read the original label “Rose Marie – Bottega d’Arte – Assisi”.
The service is characterized by ceramic of notable thickness, with an ivory-colored base and figurative decorations in blue tones. The various pieces feature different scenes and subjects, including landscapes, figures, animals and rustic motifs, accompanied by blue borders.
The lot comprises 11 pieces: 6 square plates of about 22 × 22 cm; 3 oval plates of about 28 cm; 1 serving plate of about 33 cm; 1 large serving plate of about 43 cm.
The plates have been used mainly as wall decor and some retain on the back the systems used to hang them. They show normal signs of time and the irregularities typical of artisanal work, as clearly visible in the photographs.
Interesting decorative ensemble of Umbrian ceramic production from the late 20th century, particularly pleasing as a wall composition thanks to the variety of subjects and sizes.
