Manufacture Impériale et Royale de Nimy - Drinking service (15) - Earthenware

Complete 15-piece Belgian coffee and tea service from Manufacture Impériale et Royale de Nimy, rendered in glazed cream-colored earthenware.

The set features a pronounced Art Deco decoration with cobalt blue diamonds and triangles, combined with small red dots. The simple geometry, warm ivory tone, and distinctive shapes give the service an attractive appearance that suits both an Art Deco interior and a collection of Belgian ceramics.

The set consists of:

– 1 coffee/tea pot with matching lid
– 1 creamer
– 1 open sugar bowl without a lid
– 6 cups
– 6 matching saucers

Total: 15 pieces.

Several parts bear on the underside the crowned factory mark “Manufacture Impériale et Royale – Nimy – Fabrication Belge / Made in Belgium.” In addition, painted factory or decoration codes are present.

The manufacture of Nimy was founded in 1789. This year refers to the founding of the factory and not to the fabrication date of the service. Based on the design, marking, and geometric decoration, this set is cautiously dated to the Art Deco period, circa 1930–1940.

Condition:

The service is in used vintage condition and shows signs of aging and wear appropriate to its estimated age. Present are crazing in the glaze, localized discoloration, light wear to the decoration and rims, and at least one small rim chip on a cup. On one saucer there is a fine hairline crack that may be a hairline. Please examine the detail photos carefully. No known restorations.
