Glazed ceramic sculpture depicting “L’Orfanella,” after a famous model by the Florentine sculptor Luigi Pampaloni (1791–1847).
The figure represents a young girl kneeling, with her gaze raised upward and a wound on the knee, rendered with great expressive delicacy. On the front of the base are raised inscriptions “ORFANELLA” and “PAMPALONI.”
