This JVC TD-X301 is a stereo cassette deck with auto-reverse and Dolby B- and C-noise reduction. It was released by JVC in 1986 with a list price of $230 USD, and production was discontinued three years later, in 1989.
The main features of the JVC TD-X301 are: 2 heads, mechanical counter with 3 digits, manual selection of cassette type and suitable for normal, chrome, and metal tapes, belt-driven auto-reverse transport.

Typically a front-loading cassette deck with the cassette compartment on the right side. The cassette is ejected mechanically and must be placed in the cassette holder with the playback side facing forward.

The level meters on the TD-X301 are standard digital peak meters. The fully logical transport control of the TD-X301 responds to the lightest touch, allowing transport functions to be selected quickly and effortlessly.

The Dolby C-type technology in the TD-X301 provides 20 dB of noise reduction above about 1000 Hz, double that of B-type.

For live recordings, this device has two microphone inputs with Jack connections. For undisturbed listening there is a jack connection for a stereo headphone. Connection to other audio equipment for playback is possible with an RCA cable, and recording from a source also uses an RCA cable.
