TEAC V-9 "Chameleon" Stereo Cassette Deck (1981-1982) – Japan
Fully serviced, speed perfectly calibrated, all pots internally cleaned, heads cleaned and demagnetized, recording level perfectly calibrated.
The unit is in very nice condition with only a few scratches on the top plate.
The Teac V-9 is an iconic and highly sought-after hi-fi object from the early 80s: the TEAC V-9, in Europe also known as the "Chameleon" or the Spectrosound system.
This deck is worldwide known for its unique, color-coded Chromatograph VU meters, which provide a spectacular vintage look in the dark.
Technical-wise, this is an important model in TEAC’s history: it is the very first deck in which the highly successful 3-motor IC-Logic transport loop system was applied.
This robust and indestructible drive technology would later become the standard for all high-end TEAC- and Tascam-models.
The deck features smart, minimalist details, such as the microphone and headphone jacks elegantly hidden behind the fold-out TEAC V-9 logo on the front panel.
