AI-assisted summary

Description from the seller

Yellow Chartreuse Tarragona – probably a 20 cl Flask – 40% – 1978-1985

Vintage and uncommon flask of Yellow Chartreuse, produced by the Carthusian Fathers in Tarragona, Spain.

This example dates from the 1978-1985 production period and is bottled at 40% ABV.

The bottle retains its original gold-coloured metal capsule, embossed with the word “CHARTREUSE”, as well as its original Spanish 4-pesetas tax seal, which remains visible and numbered.

The original front label bears the inscriptions “CHARTREUSE”, “Liqueur à la Gde Chartreuse”, “Fabriquée Chartreuse”, 40° and “Chartreuse S.A.E. Tarragona (España)”, together with the characteristic L. Garnier signatures.

Particularly noteworthy is the excellent fill level, which remains exceptionally high for a bottle of this age, with no significant apparent loss through evaporation.

The bottle, capsule, tax seal and label show normal signs of age and storage. The original label has some wear, staining and small areas of loss, all clearly visible in the photographs. The glass bottle remains in good overall condition.

An interesting collector’s piece of Tarragona Chartreuse, particularly desirable for its uncommon 20 cl flask format, considerably less frequently encountered than the standard bottle sizes.
