Description
Magnificent French 19th-century on-table mirror, made in mercury-gilded bronze, in the Louis XV/Rocaille style.
The structure features rich ornamental decoration composed of volutes, Rocaille, flowers, leaves and vegetal motifs, with abundant pierced elements. The whole includes a rear support of easel type that allows the mirror to stand vertically on a table.
Particularly noteworthy is the decorated glass with engraved floral motifs, framed by an elaborated gilded bronze moulding with vegetal decoration. At the top there is an ornamental composition with floral motifs and Rococo-inspired decorative elements.
Due to its stylistic and constructive characteristics, it corresponds to French Historicism of the second half of the 19th century, within the Louis XV/Rocaille taste.
Dimensions: approximately 50 × 33 × 25 cm.
Weight: approximately 3 kg.
Material: mercury-gilded bronze and decorated glass.
Period: 19th century.
