Charming small basket with a central handle, sometimes described as a little empty-potch dish or a basket of sweets.
It is in fine porcelain (faience) from the prestigious Belgian manufacture Boch La Louvière.
This exclusive model highlights the craftsmanship of the Mid-Century era / 1950s.

Oval in shape, the piece features a wide rim painted with a magnificent bright azure blue, encircled by a richly gilded twisted border. The central basin showcases a lovely enameled floral decoration composed of stylized red-orange flowers with black and gold detailing.
The central twisted handle bears an elegant weave alternating white and bright gold.

A piece that is rarely seen and offered at no reserve!

- Period: 1950 - 1959 (more precisely circa 1950-1955). The décor number D.5161 corresponds to the early 1950s registers of the manufacture, under the artistic direction of Raymond Chevalier.

- Style: Art Nouveau / Mid-Century Modern / 1950s style (with influences of Belgian Neo-classical style). This is the post-war style and the era of the "Expo 58", characterized by bold, luminous colors (like this azure blue) paired with rich gold accents.

- Material: Ceramic / Prestige fine earthenware (faience).

- Condition: Excellent condition. Magnificent glaze brilliance and very fine gilding glow, especially on the handle and rim. There is a natural crazing of the glaze under the base (firing cracks), a classic phenomenon entirely normal that attests to the age and authenticity of this faience. No chips, no cracks.
