Description from the seller

Refined 6-person dining set produced by Il Quadrifoglio, prestigious Italian manufactory synonymous with quality and elegance, designed by the designer Franco Giorgi.

Service of plates from the Quadrifoglio manufactory, made in a form clearly inspired by the famous Mondovì/Paola model by Richard Ginori, one of the most representative examples of Italian mid-20th-century modern taste production.

The plates are made of white glazed ceramic and feature a soft, rounded shape, with a wide, slightly undulating rim that closely recalls the lines of Richard Ginori's Mondovì service. The decoration is characterized by an elegant floral pattern in shades of blue and light blue: small stylized flowers, accompanied by elongated leaves and fluid brushstrokes, unfold along the rim leaving a wide white space in the central part of the plate. A thin blue line follows the edge, helping to define the composition.
The overall look very closely echoes the aesthetic of Richard Ginori Mondovì/Paola services, in which the essential form was paired with lively floral decorations and a casual taste.
However, the Quadrifoglio plates’ decoration presents its own interpretation: the stylized flowers and the palette limited to blue and light blue give the set a more sober and fresh appearance, closer to the tradition of hand-painted Italian ceramics.

The set consists of:
- 6 flat plates
- 6 soup plates
- 6 appetizer or fruit plates

Each piece is in excellent condition, intact in every part.

Rare item!

Seller's Story

My name is Riccardo. I recently graduated in Art History from the University of Florence and I am passionate about porcelain. From tableware to artistic vases, from figurines to tea and coffee sets, I am fascinated by the mastery and creativity of great artisans and designers who manage to shape this fragile material, transforming a rough mass into masterpieces with a story to tell. During my years at university I began to become interested in the history of nineteenth- and twentieth-century tableware; today, every day, I deal with prestigious porcelain pieces that always have something to say to me and to those who purchase them. I love that every day I can discover more about the objects I find while traveling around Italy, always learning something new. I always try to convey to my clients this passion I have for the objects I sell, certain that each of them has a story to tell: that of the creator, that of the one who preserved it, and that of the person who will give it a new life.
