Italian solid wood three-drawer dresser in the Luigi XV line, dating 1850–1900, in antique condition with patina and wear, featuring rich inlay decoration on fronts and top, dimensions 122 × 52 × 98 cm.
Description from the seller
Elegant Italian three-drawer dresser, crafted in wood and embellished with a rich inlay decoration.
The piece features a sinuous Louis XV–style line, with shaped front feet, a curved lower apron and framed sides. Particularly interesting is the inlaid decoration, composed of scrolls, floral elements and vegetal motifs, present both on the fronts of the drawers and on the entire upper surface.
The top is decorated with a wide symmetrical composition with a central cartouche and ornamental motifs, while the drawers display similar contrasting inlays. The furniture is completed by pendant handles and metal keyhole escutcheons.
Traditional construction is clearly visible also on the back, made with panels inserted into the frame, and in the wooden interiors of the drawers.
The piece retains a pleasant antique patina and presents in restoration/conservation condition, with evident signs of time and use. In particular, the top surface shows wear of the finish, discolorations, scratches and some losses or lifting of the inlay, clearly documented in the photographs. Additional scratches, small dents and signs of use are present on the fronts and on the structure.
The photographs are an integral part of the description and were taken to show as transparently as possible the state of conservation.
