Description from the seller
Exceptional antique Kähler art pottery vase from Denmark, dating to circa the 1930s.
A particularly beautiful and well-preserved example of Kähler Keramik / Herman A. Kähler, Næstved, Denmark, featuring the distinctive kohornsglasur (cow-horn glaze) technique characteristic of Kähler's early 20th-century artistic ceramics.
The vase has a striking bulbous form with a narrow neck and a richly worked surface. The decoration combines deep cobalt-blue raised lines and organic motifs with brown, olive and warm golden tones, creating a highly individual surface with subtle lustrous variations.
The decoration is characteristic of the traditional Kähler cow-horn technique, in which glaze was applied through a hollowed animal horn, allowing the maker to create expressive raised lines and flowing ornamental forms.
The base is clearly impressed with the HAK mark associated with Kähler production.

Exceptional collector's condition.
The vase is remarkably well preserved and presents almost as new.
The glossy glaze remains exceptionally bright and reflective both inside and outside the vase, with no visible signs of wear or everyday use.
There are no chips, cracks, repairs, restorations or glaze losses.
The only characteristic feature is fine underglaze crazing, which is barely visible beneath the dark glaze. It does not detract from the appearance or structural integrity of the piece.
Overall, this is an unusually well-preserved example for a ceramic vase of this age and type.
Please examine the photographs carefully, as they are an integral part of the description.
