Description from the seller
Rare Empire-style gondola desk chair
- Elegance & Charm of the antique.
Bring a touch of history and character to your workspace with this gondola chair inspired by the First Empire.
A timeless design: wraparound cabriolet seat offering excellent support, curved mahogany backrest and sculpted armrests with curved volutes.
Refined details: Front legs in columns adorned with guilloché bronze rings and rear saber legs, typical of the style. A mark of fine craftsmanship of the era.
The chair shows its faults as visible in the photos. The seat is quite soft. It is usable and solid as is, but it would also be perfect for an initial restoration study for enthusiasts of pretty chairs. Some flaws on the leather surface proportionate to its age. Check the photos—it's more telling.
