Splendid and imposing antique frame, model "Salvator Rosa" (also known in Rome as alla romana), with 2/3 orders of carved moulding, dating to the late 18th century (XVIII century) from the Emilia region or central Italy.
The piece stands out for its extremely massive structure and for the refined period gilding/silvering technique: silver leaf applied with a wash on red bole (visible at points of natural wear that enhance its charm and authenticity) and finished with a light era patina.
