Box - Gouache on velin, crystal, silver - Ridge-polished crystal

Beautiful 19th-century box in high-quality cut crystal with animals in landscapes. Mounted with a marked silver frame. The lid with a hand-painted gouache on velin, depicting a rural landscape with several people and several animals, inspired by the Dutch landscape painters of the 17th century. Dating from the 19th century. The box measures 6.3 cm in diameter, with a height of 3.8 cm. In very good preserved used condition (the gilding of the silver slightly worn through use). 19th century.
