Robust, heavy shell with an oval shape and a low spire. Base coloration cream or beige with rows of brownish or reddish spots. Surface adorned with faint tubercles and spiraled ridges. Tessellated helmet (also known as the West African helmet), native to the tropical Atlantic and West Africa.

Guscio robusto, pesante e di forma ovale con una bassa spira. Tonalità di base crema o beige con file di macchie brunastre o rossastre. Superficie decorata da lievi tubercoli e coste spiralate. Cassis tessellata (conosciuta anche come elmo dell'Africa occidentale), originaria delle aree tropicali dell'Atlantico e dell'Africa occidentale.
