The Italian architect and designer Ettore Sottsass, born in 1917, is nowadays best known as the founder of Memphis, the Milan-based design collective that emerged in the early 1980s. As a precursor of postmodern design, Memphis— and soon Sottsass himself— attracted significant public attention. As this book shows, however, Sottsass spent a five-and-a-half-decade career as a world-class pioneer across all major design fields: furniture, ceramics, glass, jewelry, architecture, and industrial design. During this time he collaborated with many of the world’s best-known manufacturers, including Alessi, Olivetti and Sèvres.

Carefully packaged and shipped with tracking and insurance.
