Rare 32-piece Thüringer porcelain tea and coffee service in Imari decoration – Wallendorf, ca. 1775–1790
DESCRIPTION
Exceptionally large and authentic 18th-century German hard-p porcelain (Hartporzellan) tea and coffee service, manufactured in Thuringia (most likely Wallendorf, ca. 1775–1790).
The service is executed in elegant ribbed relief porcelain and hand-decorated in the beloved Imari style: underglaze cobalt blue combined with fine overglaze iron red (rouge-de-fer) and refined gold accents.
The cups feature the characteristic South German/Thuringian Rococo handles with thumb rests. The underside shows a hand-engraved maker’s mark (Ritzmarke / Drehermarke), typical for early Thuringian manufactories from the last quarter of the 18th century. Particularly rare about this ensemble is that it not only includes 9 fine teacups with saucers, but also all four original undersaucers for the serving and pouring pieces (teapot, sugar pot, creamer and wash basin) have been preserved.

Coffee pot lid: Old restoration / assembled from multiple shards with discolored glue seams and glaze loss on the inner flange (see detail photos).
Tea canister lid: Rim flaking at the neck/rim and a short hairline running upward (see detail photo).
Other 30 pieces: In very good to excellent antique condition. All spouts, handles and rims are fully intact and free of chips or hairlines. No cracks in the dinnerware. Only light, authentic wear to the gold and decoration consistent with great age (over 230 years).

The lot is packed with the utmost care, piece by piece, in bubble wrap and shipped in a sturdy, double-wall box (box-in-box).
